MRI Radiographer
MRI is one of the fastest-growing areas of medical imaging — and PRC is the best place in WA to build a specialist career in it. With the largest MRI fleet in the state and a dedicated MRI Academy operating across 13 sites, we've built the infrastructure to develop exceptional MRI radiographers.
01 — The role at PRC
As an MRI radiographer at PRC you'll work across community clinics, specialist centres and major hospital sites, contributing to one of the highest-volume and most technically complex MRI programmes in Western Australia.
MRI subspecialty areas at PRC:
• Brain and neuroimaging
• Spine
• Major joints and musculoskeletal
• Cardiac MRI
• Obstetric and gynaecological MRI — including pelvic MRI for endometriosis
• Body and oncology
PRC's subspecialist radiologist model means you'll work alongside radiologists who are genuine experts in their MRI subspecialty — the clinical dialogue that creates is unusual in private practice and accelerates your development.
02 — Learn & grow
The PRC MRI Academy operates across 13 sites — making it one of the most accessible structured MRI training programmes in Australia. It's designed for radiographers who are serious about MRI and want a clear, supported pathway to specialist practice.
Academy objectives and outcomes:
• ASMIRT Level 1 MRI Certification — structured pathway to achieve it
• Graduate Certificate in Magnetic Resonance Technology — supported attainment
• Structured mentorship throughout your career, not just at the start
• Peer learning, advanced certification and continuous quality improvement
• Opportunities to contribute to research and industry engagement
03 — Where this can take you
MRI specialists at PRC are among the most sought-after in WA. The combination of volume, subspecialty exposure and formal credentialling means you leave the Academy with a profile that stands out — whether your next step is senior MRI radiographer, clinical educator, research contributor or a move into a fellowship pathway alongside our radiologists.
Austen Howe joined PRC as a qualified radiographer and entered the MRI training programme. He's now an MRI radiographer working across multiple sites — describing a career that's dynamic, technically engaged and genuinely supported.
