About the role
We're looking for a motivated Accounts Receivable Officer. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and efficient accounts receivable and administrative services, ensuring timely billing, debtor management, payment processing, and compliance with organisational and healthcare billing requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage accounts receivable and debtor ledgers to ensure timely payments and accurate billing
- Resolve account enquiries with patients, insurers, Medicare, and other stakeholders.
- Process billing, payments, refunds, and receipts in line with policy and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial, billing, and patient records across relevant systems.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and investigate account discrepancies.
- Conduct billing audits and assist with financial reporting activities.
- Provide administrative support, including correspondence and account documentation management.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, privacy standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
You are a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Receivable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate financial outcomes. With strong organisational skills and a commitment to compliance, you can confidently manage billing, receipting, reconciliations, and debtor management activities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience in Accounts Receivable, billing, debtor management, or a similar finance-related role
- Understanding of Medicare billing, requirements, healthcare billing processes, and general ledger principles
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial administration and data entry
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with reconciliations, debt collection, and reporting
- Knowledge of privacy, confidentiality, and compliance requirements
- Experience with COMRAD, Greentree, or similar systems(desirable)
- Full Australian working rights and a current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
